Report a fire hazard
Project background
Fire and Emergency New Zealand run an online reporting tool which allows people in New Zealand to report if they believe there is a fire hazard present in their area.
It was long overdue for a redesign to enhance usability and implement some UX best practice for forms.
User interface and design system
The new form was designed to enhance the user experience and the presence of the Fire and Emergency brand to make sure the site was in line with their other websites.
A simple progress bar helps users to navigate their way through the form and understand how many steps there are remaining. It also makes it clearer what form fields are required versus optional to eliminate confusion for the users.
